Terms of Use
Effective 11 October 2026
Yuba (يوبا) is an iOS app made by Amr Miri; commercially, Yuba operates from the United Arab Emirates. The app itself is licensed to you under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms supplement that agreement. The license comes from Apple; the membership rules come from this page.
What Yuba is
Yuba reads your bank SMS messages on your phone and keeps a private spending ledger there. You hand it messages through an iOS Shortcut; it parses them with fixed rules, on the device. No account, no server.
Yuba is a record-keeping tool. It shows you what your bank messages say. It is not a bank, it holds no money, and it does not give financial advice. Nothing in the app is a recommendation to spend, save, or invest.
Your numbers
Every figure in Yuba comes from your own bank messages, parsed by rules. Rules are careful, but bank messages vary, and a message can be missed or read wrong. For anything that matters — a balance, a payment, a dispute — check the figure against your bank. Your bank's records are the official ones.
The membership
Yuba has one membership: an auto-renewing subscription, sold and billed by Apple, with two plans. The membership does one thing: while it runs, every new month opens and is yours to keep.
| Plan | Price | Renews |
|---|---|---|
| Yuba membership, monthly | SAR 29.99 per month | Every month, until you cancel |
| Yuba membership, yearly | SAR 179.99 per year (about SAR 15.00 a month) | Every year, until you cancel |
Prices in the app come from Apple, and the price on Apple's payment sheet when you subscribe is the price you pay. Apple bills your Apple Account, and each plan renews on its own until you cancel. Payment runs entirely between you and Apple — we have no server, keep no customer records, and never receive your payment details or identity from a purchase. Apple holds the purchase data. Family Sharing is off.
Yuba is free for 60 days, counted from the first bank text it reads. Nothing is asked during those days, and all of Yuba is open. The free days never pause. They start again only if everything is deleted — in Settings → Your data, or by deleting the app — and then every record on the phone goes with them. Settings › Membership shows the date they end from the first day, and Home shows it in the last week. From day 61, totals, averages and charts need a membership, except for the months that ended inside your free days.
The yearly plan includes one month free the first time you subscribe. Apple charges only when that free month ends, and cancelling before then costs nothing. The app offers it in the last week of your free days.
If a renewal payment fails. When a card expires or a charge is declined at renewal, Apple keeps the membership open for up to 16 days while it retries the payment and asks you to update your payment method. If a retry succeeds inside that window, nothing is interrupted; if none does, the membership lapses at the end of it. If Apple keeps retrying after those 16 days, the totals wait like any lapse while every month you own stays open, and they reopen when the payment goes through.
Without a connection. Yuba keeps Apple's last confirmed answer on the phone. If the App Store cannot be reached, that answer stands until the paid period ends, plus 16 days; after that, the totals wait until Yuba can check with Apple again. Nothing else stops.
Months you own
Months that finished during your 60 free days are yours. After that, a month is yours if your membership covered any day of it. A month you own stays viewable forever. Cancelling never removes anything already open.
Export never sits behind the membership. Your data is yours to take out at any time.
A lapsed membership
Capture keeps working. Every month you already own stays open. Export keeps working. What stops is the totals of the months your membership did not cover — and any range or chart that includes them.
If you come back on the monthly plan, the current month opens and life continues from there; months missed while lapsed stay closed. If you come back on the yearly plan, every missed month opens.
Cancelling
Cancel any time in your Apple Account settings: on your iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and nothing already open is touched. To avoid the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
Refunds
Refunds are handled by Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple refunds a purchase, the months that exact purchase opened close again. Nothing else changes.
Using Yuba
Yuba is for your own bank messages, on your own phone. Don't feed it messages that aren't yours, and don't use it to handle someone else's financial data. Don't copy, resell, or tamper with the app — Apple's license covers the rest.
Responsibility
Yuba is provided as is. We keep the parsing rules careful and the app maintained, but no software is perfect: a message can be misread, a bug can happen. We are not responsible for decisions made on Yuba's figures — the section above says it plainly: verify with your bank.
Your data lives only on your phone and in your own iPhone backup. We hold no copy, so we cannot restore what a lost or erased phone loses. Where the law allows liability to be limited, our total liability for any claim connected to the app is the amount you paid for the membership in the twelve months before the claim.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Where you live grants you consumer and data rights of its own — nothing here reduces them. Apple's license agreement carries its own terms for the license itself.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, this page changes and the date at the top moves. The version on this page is the one in force.
Privacy
How Yuba handles your data — which is to say, how it keeps it on your phone — is on the privacy page.
